This is my first time making an actual post on this Blog of ours - but I felt the occassion needed to be documented!
For those of you who do not know, last week - on Friday the 15th of August - Torill and the Love of Her Life were married.
I'm sure you will all join with me to wish them a long life of love and joy together. Anyone who knows Torill at all, knows how wonderful, passionate, loving and giving she is ~ and that she deserves nothing but the best.
This has been a beautiful story of Love "hiding in plain sight" - I was overjoyed when she told me they were together, although I do believe that one of the first things I did was to yell "It's about time!" ...because the way they felt about each other was so obvious to anyone looking on, it seemed as if they were the only two who didn't realise that they belonged together! Luckily they did "find" each other, and the years they spent together as friends and housemates has laid the foundation for a true and magical Love.
Because I am on the other side of the planet, I was unable to attend the ceremony ~ but in true Torill style, she did everything she could to include me. She sent me an invitation, a program, my own personalised place card, and a very detailed schedule of what would happen when, so that I could sit here in our little Magnolia Tree and celebrate along with the happy couple, family and friends. So, I was very surprised when I got a phone call from her nephew, to ask if I would like for him to phone me back in a few hours and put me on speakerphone so that I could hear him reading the small "wedding toast" I had written for them. (Torill's nephew is now on my list of Heroes! That was such a thoughtful gift!)
Torill, my Darling Friend, it truly did mean the world to me to be able to "be there" in that way, and to be able to speak to you for that minute. Thank you for thinking of me on your day.
You are such an amazing woman, and you deserve every happiness.
I hope you and your Husband (hehe your Husband - how long will it take for you to get used to hearing that?) are enjoying your Honeymoon - I will talk to you when you get home, and in the meantime, anyone who wanders in to read this:

Never thought I would do this - post an image of myself - but since this is such a special occation... here is a photo from the wedding, showing what my dress looked like - as you can see, it completely covers my sparkling shoes... and no, I am not going to make it bigger, and this is the last time you will see any image of me in here... :blushes:
